In text citations: After you quote a text, you need to give a parenthetical reference. Usually, this would include the author's name and the page number where the text usually appears: (Collier 45). Note: no commas, no mention of the word "page," and the punctuation mark comes after the closed parenthesis.
"Oh, I was scared. The war had finally come to Redding, and it was terrible" (Collier 51).
